Surgery Information

A warm, friendly and professional staff is here to serve you. Our surgical suites are fully equipped with state of the art technology that allows for us to provide both outpatient surgeries as well as elective inpatient surgeries.

What will happen during admission?

During your admission you will be asked to sign a consent form of admission to the hospital, your identification bracelet will be prepared for your stay and a nurse will interview you about factors that may apply to your stay. You will also be given the opportunity to receive information about the presence of an Advanced Directive.

Please arrive on time for your admission appointment.

What should you do before surgery?

Before your surgery a staff member will contact you prior to your visit to ensure all instructions, tests and financial matters are taken care of. Once everything is in place, you will need to:

  • Arrange for an adult to drive you home and for someone to be available to care for you during recovery.
  • Organize your health insurance cards and identification cards for timely check in on the day of surgery.
  • Follow the eating and drinking limitations your physician has given you.
  • Follow your medication requirements.

What should you do the day of surgery?

  • Plan to arrive on time.
  • Leave any jewelry and valuables at home.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • If your child is having surgery, bring a comfort item such as a toy for them.
  • Don’t smoke.
  • Notify your physician if you may be pregnant.

What happens after your surgery?

Once your surgery is completed you will be taken to our recovery room and your friends and family will be notified of your status. You will receive post-operative instructions before going home. In order to ensure a timely recover you will need to:

  • Follow your post-operative instructions.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours.
  • Do not operate any equipment for 24 hours.
